Vodka Sauce
Vodka sauce, made with real vodka
Ingredients
- 32 oz Tomato sauce fresh (preferred) or store-bought
- 1 med Yellow onion
- 4 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Cup Vodka
- 1/8 stick Butter
- 1/2 Cup Heavy cream
- 3 Tbsp Parsley
- 1 Tbsp Oregano
- 1 Tbsp Basil
- 1 Tbsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp Pepper
Instructions
- Finely chop onion and 2 cloves of garlic. Cut remaining garlic into thin slices.
- Heat large pot on medium high heat. When the pot is hot, add butter and let melt. When all butter is melted add onion. Cook onion for 5 minutes, then add garlic
- When onions become translucent, add vodka. Make sure that the garlic has not burned. If the garlic starts to burn, add vodka early.
- When most of vodka has boiled off, add the tomato sauce.
- Add heavy cream, and the reamining ingredients. Stir well. Cook for 25-30 minutes.
